Does CMUNCE allow double delegations?
CMUNCE does not allow double delegations. Each country, cabinet member, or other personality of a committee will only be represented by one student.

Does CMUNCE have a maximum delegation size?
CMUNCE prides itself on its small committee sizes. As such, we generally limited school delegations to 12 students or less. Schools are allowed to request more than 12 positions, but we cannot guarantee that they will be available.

Do I need to stay at one of the CMUNCE-recommended hotels?
All schools are free to choose their accommodations for the CMUNCE timeframe. However, only students staying at CMUNCE-recommended hotels will be eligible for free escorts to and from their hotel during the conference. Moreover, only schools staying at CMUNCE-recommended hotels will be able to attend midnight crisis sessions unless other arrangements are made by their advisors in conjunction with the CMUNCE Secretariat.

How do escorts work, and are they mandatory?
CMUNCE will be providing escorts to and from the hotel throughout the conference, as well as on all conference activities. At any time while in transit, delegations will have the benefit of a CMUNCE staff member who is well acquainted with the surrounding area to guide them to wherever they are going.
Delegations will meet up with a CMUNCE staff member at the hotel each morning to take them to Columbia's campus. Likewise, a staff member will lead them back to the hotel following the end of the day's activities. Should delegations elect to not be provided with an escort, their advisor must notify a Secretariat member directly.

How is security run at the hotel?
The conference is staffed by CMUNCE security staff 24 hours a day. Additionally, delegates are under the protection of Columbia University security while at the conference and under hotel security while at the hotel.
CMUNCE will have staff security present in a Security Suite at the hotel following each day's final committee session. These staff members will remain in the hotel overnight to perform rounds and enforce a 1:00 AM curfew, to ensure that the delegates and other guests in the hotel are able to get a good night's rest. Delegates must remain in their rooms and keep noise levels to a minimum after curfew.
Advisors may set an earlier curfew for their delegates, but will be responsible for enforcing them.

What is the advisor reception?
At the conclusion of Opening Ceremonies, an advisor reception will be held where advisors will have the opportunity to meet the CMUNCE Secretariat as well as the other advisors. Here, advisors will be welcome to ask questions to and speak with any and all Secretariat members in an informal setting while their delegates are in their first committee session. Refreshments will be served.

What and where is the delegate reception?
CMUNCE will be hosting a delegate reception on Saturday evening in Roone Arledge Auditorium in Lerner Hall, featuring light food and drinks as well as performances by Columbia student dance and music groups.
All schools are expected to attend the reception, as this new CMUNCE tradition will be a welcome improvement this year.

The Code of Conduct is an agreement whereby delegates promise to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and refrain from activities deemed by the CMUNCE Secretariat to be disrespectful, dangerous, and/or illegal. By registering and attending the conference, all delegates implicitly agree to the Code of Conduct.
The Code of Conduct will be available online later this year.
